Basic Information
The restoration of Mt. Mudeung Old Path fits with the city’s goal making the happy city of creation. It provides a road which citizens can feel the old culture and flavor, walk freely, and make memories. It has been pushed forward to protect the environment by splitting the climbers weighed on Jeungsimsa temple area so that the rate of the climbers can be balanced.
The old path will also be used as the tourist attractions by telling stories of each path. Furthermore, the climbers will be able to feel the culture and favor of our ancestors on their way to Seoseokdae (1000m from downtown). It will become a symbolic path of Gwangju Metropolitan City.
The 1st section: Sansu-dong ~ Chungjangsa Shrine ~ Wonhyosa Temple (7.75km, 3hours)
The 2nd section: Wonhyosa Temple ~ Iron Manufacture Historic Site ~ Seoseokdae (4.12kim, 2hours)
The 3rd section: Jangwon intersection ~ Deokbong ~ Chungjangsa Shrine ~ Gasamunhakgwan (Lyric Literature Center) (11.3km, 5 hours)
