But for the hosts, this word is a reminder of their relationship. The two first met on Arbor Day in their 20s, and they encountered Stay Sikmok-il in an alley in Jungheung-dong, Gwangju in their 30s. The earthen pipes, red bricks, and hexagonal tiles that retain the traces of the 1960s harmonize with the current neighborhood. The old paint on the wall is peeling off, and there are some Chinese characters written on the beam by someone wishing for happiness. We recommend that you feel this space, where the traces of everyday life are found, as is. Sitting on the daecheongmaru at sunset, you can hear people preparing for dinner in the community. When the smell of sesame oil and sizzling fish tickle your nose, you will wonder what you should cook for dinner tonight. Grab a bottle of wine that will pair nicely with your meal from Sikmok-il Bottle. An ordinary trip in a neighborhood full of families will be special.

Yeoro consists of four guestrooms named after the summits of Mudeungsan Mountain, such as Ipseokdae and Seoseokdae, and the management office. There are two large rooms and two small rooms, each of which can accommodate one to four people, and the nightly rates are quite affordable. Each room has a TV, air conditioner, refrigerator, and private bathroom, and guests can use the Internet and washer, free of charge. Breakfast (sweet pumpkin porridge) is provided, and there are barbecue facilities. It is also located in the vicinity of tourist attractions (Asia Culture Center, etc.). Yeoro isn't just an accommodation. It even offers classes where guests can experience traditional Korean culture such as loess dye, making injeolmi rice cake, making gangjeong (fried glutinous rice crackers), etc. It also hosts a wide range of events with the local community. The name, "Yeoro," means to respect everyone's life, recall the beautiful memories of life and enjoy the present, and become a companion in the life's journey to look forward to the future with anticipation and excitement.

A leisurely day in a frenetic life Dongmyeong-dong is a burgeoning neighborhood in Gwangju that’s attracting quite a crowd with amazing shops. Yuyuhan is located in a hanok village in the herat of Dongmyeong-dong. The alleys between the hanoks, which are clustered together, give off a calm atmosphere as if time has stopped still. Built in 1973 with Douglas fir from Mudeungsan Mountain, the house retains the memories of the elderly woman who raised her kids here. “Consciousness creates spaces, and spaces create memories.” Under this concept, Yuyuhan values memories, which is why it has been renovated using contemporary materials, while leaving the beautiful traces and touches intact. In hopes that the time here will be spent leisurely, the owner named it Yuyuhan meaning “distant” and “idle.” As soon as you open the gate, you will be greeted by an old camellia tree. When you walk past the small flower bed where you can see the changes of the four seasons most clearly, you will come across the living room and kitchen. There is a large window providing a view of the changes in the sunlight as the sun rises and sets and the traces of the wind left among the trees with dancing leaves and branches. If you open the window of the daecheongmaru connected to the living room, the boundaries inside the house become broken down, and you can feel the fresh air and the warm sunlight filling the entire house. The house is especially a sight to behold in summer when it rains and in winter during a snowfall. From the simple bedrooms where you can unwind and relax to the warm kitchen that satiate hunger as well as the soul, and a tea ceremony area in the living room where you can idly look out the window, Yuyuhan is a place that is reminiscent of a peaceful and rustic country house, providing the relaxation and relief that we all need in our busy daily lives. Discover the happiness of simplicity and add it to your own daily life.

Today, the hotel is part of the 77-kan (kan is a unit of measurement referring to the distance between two columns) hanok, or traditional Korean house, built by a man of great wealth named Choe Won-taek. Still maintaining the classic atmosphere of the bygone era, the main building has four rooms, each of which can accommodate up to 10 people. The modern annex building has six rooms, which can accommodate up to 20 people. Guests can enjoy the following free of charge: Western and Korean-style breakfast, cake time during the day, and champagne in the evening. Ogaheon is also used as a cultural space for banquets, academic seminars, cultural gatherings, and wedding ceremonies.
