Jeonil Building 245
- 245, Geumnam-ro, Dong-gu, Gwangju
- 062-225-0245
Basic Information
At Geumnam-ro 1-ga, the heart of Gwangju, a major change occurred in 2015, with the establishment of the Asia Culture Center.
The Asia Culture Center replaced the Jeollanam-do Provincial Office to present a blend of culture and the arts in the area. There is a place in the Geumnam-ro area that has retained its original appearance, like an old wall clock. It is none other than Jeonil Building.
In May 2020, Jeonil Building was reborn as a historical exhibition hall as Jeonil Building 245. It marks a chapter in the history of the Republic of Korea with clear bullet holes from the day when a helicopter opened fire on civilians during the May 18 Democratization Movement.
