aaddBasic Information
Maintaining the age-old craft of buncheongware, originating on Mudeungsan Mountain, Pyeongchon Ceramics Workshop's mandate is the transmission of this traditional ceramic technique in a modern era through hands-on experience classes and more.
In order to continue the heritage of the original Mudeungsan Buncheongware, the Workshop recreates productions of the Buncheongware while offering various experience programs for students and visitors.
By harmonizing the splendor of the traditional but crude ceramics with sophisticated designs of contemporary ceramics, the studio makes efforts to produce products of high commercial value.
Pyeongchon Ceramics Workshop operates classes where students can feel and experience the spirit and history of Korean ceramic techniques which date back 7,000 years. Over two hours in the exhibition hall and the hands-on experience hall (both covering about 265 m² in area), students can learn how ceramics are made, and use the grayish-blue clay to create their own unique works with the aid of instructors.
