Since ancient times, the wild current of Hwangryong River has carried sand and soil, a fistful at a time, to create the island known as Songsan. The island which had remained primitive for thousands of years is today a stunning park perennially visited by tourists. Hop on a river boat or cross the arched bridge from Cheongdeungbo Reservoir to enter Songsan Recreation Area, and visitors will find the eco pond on the left, the Planatus Plaza on the right, and a grass lawn in the back. Without fancy rides or theme park, the area offers a beautiful location where small gatherings of families, friends, and couples can picnic and relax together.
